As a Product Manager at HiveTech, I managed the product development, design, manufacturing, and engineering of the climate controlled containers we built and sold to beekeepers around the country.
I also redesigned the website, branding, marketing brochures, banners, business cards, and graphics.
Other areas of product development included customer discovery, customer feedback, technical troubleshooting, physical construction, and project management.
Honey bees are suffering for multiple reasons; use of pesticides, mites and diseases, migratory stress, and climate change. At HiveTech, we are focusing on the last one, climate change. With inconsistent temperatures during the winter months, honey bees that are kept outside in common Langstroth hive boxes can not keep up with the extreme dips and rises in temperature. Beekeepers in Canada and Europe have used root cellars or other dry storage facilities to store the bees inside of to regulate their winter hibernation climate. Otherwise, they are not able to survive. Last year in Colorado, we had 50% loss over winter.
United Ecology
As United Ecology’s primary designer, Viz Studio is here to help communicate plans between the contractor and project owner. Many of these designs are used for presentation and installation to complete projects at large scales. Master plans for 1000 acre properties to exhibition gardens.
Camper Van
Guilty — this is our van and it was a dream to build it out. Creating graphics and diagrams for the systems and design was a big part of the joy in this process.
Event Graphics
Ceremony maps, schedules, and way finding for personal or corporate events. Viz can help create unique and helpful printed graphics to add to your event, wedding, or retreat.
